Welcome Home

Then he goes home, calls his friends and neighbors together, and says to them, 'Rejoice with me, because I've found my lost sheep!' (Luke 15:6)

We took Naomi home on her due date: Tuesday, May 12th. Before packing our belongings and hopping in the car for the first ride back to Emeryville, Naomi had her first photo shoot. I've seen many hospital pictures of newborns with puffy eyes and blotchy skin, but Naomi already looks like a "big girl" in her pics... eyes wide open and posing, too! She is a true Daddy's Girl: Richie wanted to get the ultimate photo package right off the bat :) Take a look and feel free to sign her guestbook: Meet the Baby!

From Welcome Home

When we brought Naomi home, her first two visitors were Uncle Mike (Richie's Best Man) and Auntie Genina (Richie's 2nd cousin). Gena brought her a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers. It felt really nice to bring her home, where her stuff has basically taken over the entire studio! Our place feels complete with her presence and it's hard to imagine what life was like before her arrival.

Her first appointment with Dr. Tracy was wonderful! She was such a good girl... she hardly cried and even fell asleep on the examining table while the doctor was checking her out. Naomi wasn't jaundiced like we thought she might be, which was a major relief. Mimi weighed in at 5lbs, 12oz. Dr. Tracy even gave us the go-ahead to take Mimi out and about. We took her to our favorite place to eat while I was pregnant: Sun Hong Kong in Berkeley! (Side-note: We ordered the crispy pan-friend noodles, which was my major craving during the pregnancy and I hate to admit that it just didn't taste the same... still tasty, but not to-die-for-delicious!) Afterwards, we took her to Target and did a little shopping. So at 4-days old, Naomi already had her first true outing with us!
